I sent the following query to tx-census-lookup-l@rootsweb.com and all of the answers I received suggested I go to www.familysearch.org to find my person. I had already checked familysearch.org and every other source on the Internet that I could find without success and that is why I sent the query to the Census List. He does not show up on the familysearch.org list even though I found his name on an Index that states he is on the 1880 Fayette County,(Dedier Lutringer, Fayette County, TX, ED 165, Page 283) and I tried every variation of the first and last name on familysearch and other programs I have found in addition to searching only the surname. My original query is as follows: "Would you please look up Dedier LUTRINGER on the 1880 Fayette County, TX, Census. He was born around 1856. I would appreciate all the details listed on this census. His name was actually Desederius, but I found the name Dedier on an index and suspect it is him. Appreciate all your hard work and help". I am hoping there is someone out there that has other sources besides www.familysearch.org to find individuals on the 1880 census. Sincerely, Dicksie KNIGHT MAY ===== Dicksie & Jim MAY (307) 760-1753 (Cell Phone) __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. Dickie, If you go to the LDS site and type in the name Dedier Sutringer you will get the census info you are looking for. He was a boarder with a family named Sarrazin, A. in Fayette Co. TX both Census taker and the transcriber made mistakes on the name. Hope this helps, Carol on Long Island, NY. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dicksie May" <dicksiem@yahoo.com> To: <TX-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, April 27, 2003 10:37 AM Subject: Re: [TX-CEN] 1880 Texas Census, Fayette County, LUTRINGER > I sent the following query to > tx-census-lookup-l@rootsweb.com and all of the answers > I received suggested I go to www.familysearch.org to > find my person.
