I don't know where you got your information, but I checked page 283, the page before and the page after, but found no one by that name. There is a C. Hurtfinger or Hurlfinger), and a Dedier Sutringer but so far as I could see, that was the closest. In my opinion (from looking at the images) , the first letter is an S, not an L, although someone may interpret the scroll S as an L. If you want, I can send you a .jpg image attachment of the page and you can make your own determination. The info from the Familysearch page is: Dedier SUTRINGER Household Male ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Other Information: Birth Year <1858> Birthplace ALSAAS Age 22 Occupation Clerk Marital Status S <Single> Race W <White> Head of Household A. I had already checked familysearch.org and every other source on the Internet that I could find without success and that is why I sent the query to the Census List. He does not show up on the familysearch.org list even though I found his name on an Index that states he is on the 1880 Fayette County,(Dedier Lutringer, Fayette County, TX, ED 165, Page 283) and I tried every variation of the first and last name on familysearch and other programs I have found in addition to searching only the surname. My original query is as follows: "Would you please look up Dedier LUTRINGER on the 1880 Fayette County, TX, Census. He was born around 1856. I would appreciate all the details listed on this census. His name was actually Desederius, but I found the name Dedier on an index and suspect it is him. Appreciate all your hard work and help". I am hoping there is someone out there that has other sources besides www.familysearch.org to find individuals on the 1880 census.
