Sorry, Jane, I still don't find J. H. or M. E. The only one of the group I can find is Paul. 1900 Travis Co., TX, JP 3, Austin, Ward 5, June 2, 1900, ED 89, Sheet 4b 70, 78 - There are three heads living at 308 W. 16th, family 78, 77 then Paul with a group of males Willam H. Allen is the first person listed of 11 males - all show "at school" under occupation. The head #76 is an architect, so I'm wondering if possibly all these fellows were learning to be architects. Just a guess. Paul Howser, boarder, W, M, Dec. 1876, 23, Single, TX KY VA, at school All 11 fellows show single except 1 who is a widower. All are in their early to mid 20s except the widower who is 40. This has to be your Paul. Just hope you can make sense of what I've written.
