I was given this family info with John Hardin in it,a month ago.I mentioned it to my sister who is the oldest in my family.She can't believe it!.Always thought Ky.,Hardin county was where great grand dad came from. Not knowing any first names to look up,has not helped me at all. Your efforts were not wasted! This reinforces the Shelby county family. There probably were Ky.ancestors who did come to Grayson county,Tx. in 1850. J.D.Hardin family had to know somebody in Preston in 1853-54. Visiting at Christmastime with a very pregnant wife! They greeted the New Year with the birth of John on 01 Jan 1854. Happy New Year!! Do you know the date the 1850 census was taken in Grayson county, Tx??
