David, Some of us enjoy the list servers being down for a bit - but oh my, what a garbled mess we have to wade through when they come back up and start releasing all the posts held in que! I read this family in 1870 Harrison County as McG. Brazier, age 60, and assume that to be your McCager Brashier. Not sure if you have this, but because I have still not found them in 1850, am passing it along in case it helps with your family makeup. Notice that Tom was born in Mississippi. 1860 Houston County, Texas - Beat 2 - PO Randolph - June 4, 1860 295 - M. Brazier, male, age 50; farmer; $1570/360; born SC Hannah, age 53; housewife; born SC James, age 21; farmer; born AL Tom, age 14; born MS W. A., female, age 11; born TX Wm., age 8; born TX Sam, age 6; born TX There is one possibility in 1850 Texas who might be yours, but the family makeup is so garbled, it's hard to tell. Household is indexed with H. Brozil, male, age 40, born SC, as the head of household in 1850 Harrison County, but none of the rest of the family fit what we're looking for. Again - sorry not to be able to find them in 1850. Good luck! Linda in Georgia
Thanks Linda, Yes this is the family I am looking for (the one you found in the 1870 Census). Everything matches up with the existing data I have on this family (plus some great new ages and birth places to consider). Thank you very much for this very important lookup.
