    3. Of course, by that time frame she could have gotten remarried. If she were to be found on the 1920 census ANYWHERE under her married name (Griffin), then she would be listed as widowed. Her maiden name was Clark L. Cook, daughter of Thomas B. and Dora A. Cook. They're listed on the 1920 census there in Potter County, but Clark isn't with them. They even had a daughter named Henry. Her in laws were Andrew and Willie Smith. She's not with them either even though they ran a boarding house. So, for the time being, Clark has become a mystery, and a loose thread in my tree of life. Her and Tolson were married six years before he died. That was plenty of time to have children if they were ever going to have any. That's more the reason I've been looking for Clark, to see if there were any little Tolsons running around out there. I didn't find her indexed, so I checked all the Griffin households shown to have been enumerated in 1920 Potter County. None of those included a Clark or similar given name. There IS a Leona Griffin, age 23, single, who was enumerated as a boarder and working as a checking clerk in a bank. Is it possible that the widowed Clark L., born 1892, and the single Leona, born 1897, is the same person? Did she remarry? Might she have been living with relatives and mis-enumerated with the incorrect surname? Sorry not to be able to help.
