    3. I hope I don't offend anyone with this type posting? My grand daughter was born in Sugarland, TX in 1993. Because of the increased security at some facilities it becomes necessary for my daughter to have an "original" birth certificate rather than the hopital's form of birth certificate. Would some kind soul plese tell me how my daughter might obtain an "original" from the great state of Texas. Thanx. Kerm Goda in PA.

    3. Hi Kerm, You can get a certified copy from the Texas State Department of Health Serices. Birth certificates are confidential for 75 years unless you are a "qualified applicant." And I believe your grand daughter and her parents would qualify. Their web site says: "Copies of birth and death certificates are confidential under Texas Law for 75 years for birth certificates and 25 years for death certificates from the date of the event. If the death was less than 25 years ago or the birth was less than 75 years ago, the certified copies can only be obtained by qualified applicants. "A qualified applicant is defined as the registrant, or immediate family member either by blood or marriage, his or her guardian, or his or her legal representative." -- http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/vs/reqproc/birth_death_general.shtm Texas Vital Statistics Request Processing Forms: http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/vs/reqproc/forms.shtm Bill Allen <misterbill@pdq.net>

    3. hello, You should be able to go to the court house there in the town that she was born in. They should have it on file there. it is just a matter of looking it up and copying it for you.. You may have to spend a few bucks to get it. --- kerm goda <kermgoda@epix.net> wrote: > I hope I don't offend anyone with this type > posting? > My grand daughter was born in Sugarland, TX in > 1993.
