There were Yarbroughs in 1870 Smith County, but no James nor "J" initial. One James Yarbrough was indexed in Anderson County. He was age 50, born Georgia, and living with Evan and Margaret Powell, born Georgia and South Carolina. Another James E. Yarbro was indexed in Cooke County. He was age 24, born in Mississippi, with wife named Mary, born in Missouri. A third and fourth James Yarborough were indexed in Ellis County. One was age 31, born Tennessee, with no wife, and the other was age 48, with wife named Ella J., age 45, both born in Arkansas.
