I would appreciate a lookup in the 1860 TX census for John and Margaret (Evans) Giles. John dob 1833 in SC; Margaret 1838 GA. They were married in 1858 in Floyd Co., GA and migrated to TX ~ 1859. They would have 2 children in 1860: Vashti (f) dob 1858; William John Giles, dob ~ 1859. They were known to be in Anderson Co., TX in 1870, and in Freestone Co., TX in 1880.

Kloyece, There were two John Giles indexed in 1860 Texas. One was in Rusk County, and definitely not yours. The other is indexed in both Ancestry and Genealogy.com's indexes (AIS) on page 313 of Fayette County. There is no page 313 online, so I don't know where to go next. If anyone on the list has 1860 Fayette County, Kloyece and I would very much appreciate your checking for the John Giles indexed there. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. BTW, there were none indexed as just "J" Giles or Jiles, and none of the Giles surname indexed 1860 Anderson County.
