Linda, I think you have found them. William was said to have died (abt) 1850, so this widow is probably his. And this family has been known to travel in a "bunch". So this J.A. born in Tenn is probably William's brother, James Allen b. 1822. William b. N.C., but he and Sarah were m. Tenn 1844, and 2 of their children were born there. Do you mind sending me what you found ? The Patterson widow, and J.A. and Susan Patterson, age 28? I would appreciate it so much.
