Some of the names are given as nick names or what the family called them. Alonzo gets to be Lon for instance. Elvina gets to be Viney or Vina. some of my personal ones. Also even on recent things Dale was Dole in 1937 on a birth record by the state. A bible name of Virgie (1902 mothers handwrting) became Virginia when she come in to the world and work place.
