The 1900 census IS every-name indexed at Ancestry, so yes, if she were enumerated as Jessie Still, she should appear in the index and be found in the household of her parent at age 13 or so. There is only one Jesse E. Still indexed in 1900 Texas who was near age 13. That one is a male Jesse, born Sep 1887, and not the one you need. Where was she living in later census years? Where was she living when she died? Advice? Order a copy of Jessie's death certificate. With any luck at all, it will give you the names of her parents and enable you to locate her (and them) in earlier census records. Good luck! Susan, This appears to be the same gentleman shown with Mabel and the children in the 1930 census of Carson County: 1920 Hardeman County, Texas - Chillicothe, Ward 4 - January 15, 1920 - ED 123/Sheet 13A/page 264 W. M. Houston's private boarding house, lines 1-9 251 - Williams, Arthur J., boarder; M W 32 Md; TX AL TX; barber/shop No trace of Mabel with the children indexed anywhere in 1920 Texas. Might she have been living with her parents? I notice there's a ten year gap between Neulan and their youngest child, so they may have been separated for some time. Good luck!
