    3. Yea I finally got my TX Census Lookup Digest Sorry Linda I meant to put that Mollie or Mary was my gr gr Aunt not my gr gr grandmother. I have no other information right now about any children for Mollie and Bob White. All I have is their names right now. I am trying to pull together my gr gr grandfather's family. All I have is bits and peices. Some that I am not sure that are correct so it makes it hard to explain the family. M D Barnett 1st marriage ? 2nd Marriage Married: Martha A. Smith Lucas (maybe 2nd marriage for both of them) 1st marriage W. H. Lucas 2nd M D Barnett Children: Lousetta Elizabeth B. 1848 Mississippi D. 1931 Gentry's Mill, Hamilton Co., TX Married: W. W. All is allot of guess work so far. I really have no statistics on Mary Catherine. I just heard a story that was told by my grandmother to her mother and she told it to my oldest sister. They are white but as far as births I do not know and I have no idea if they had children. 3. This is the only Larkin Womack family I can find indexed in 1850 who were from Missouri, and I am posting this transcription also to the Texas census list: 1850 Panola County, Texas - October 18, 1850 - Roll M432_913 - page 171 399 - Frances Womack, age 53; female; occupation widow; $300; born MO John, age 36; farmer; born MO Lucy Ann, age 27; born MO Jacob, age 26; farmer; born MO Newton, age 24; farmer; born MO Larkin, age 21; farmer; born MO James, age 18; farmer; born MO William, age 16; born AR Panola, age 14; female; born TN I don't find this family indexed in the 1840 census, but there IS a Larkin Womack indexed in 1830 Crawford County, Arkansas Territory who was in the 40 to 50 year old age range. Because Frances' son, William, was born in Arkansas, the Larkin Womack family enumerated there in 1830 is most likely the same one who had a wife named Frances and the children listed above. 1. Re: [TX-CEN] Leon Co./1870/MANNING
    2. Linda Murray
    3. David, I thought I had this family all tied up in the proverbial "neat package" until I re-read your post that said he had brothers named Theodore and Richard. The only possibility I have been able to locate had several brothers, including a Thomas born in 1855 Texas, but no Richard There's only one Richard Maning/Manning indexed in 1870 Texas. He was born ca 1858 in Texas, but belongs to a FS and Caroline Manning born Texas and Mississippi, and has no brother named John. I am at a loss to find a connection to either Theodore or Richard, but am sending what I have found anyhow - just in case. If it's not yours, hopefully it will remain in the archives until someone else comes along looking for Texas Mannings with an Alabama connection. As you recall, there were TWO 1900 enumerations for your John M. Manning family in Texas. Look at the second one that gives John's parents born in NC and GA instead of AL and GA. I am sure that you already have the 1880 enumeration for John and Sarah, so am briefly reviewing it here to support my belief that John's father was born in North Carolina. 1880 Leon County, Texas 264 - Manning, J. M., age 31; farmer; AL NC GA Sarah E., wife; age 29; TX TN TN Rolan B., son; age 7 months, born Nov. in TX 265 - Manning, T. L., age 25; farmer; TX NC GA C. A., wife; age 20, Ida Bell, age 1, Willie, age 4 months, born Feb. TX I believe that TL and John M. are brothers, and that their father was born in NC, but I think that TL may be Thomas instead of Theodore. 1870 Leon County, Texas - Precinct 2 - PO Midletown - October 4, 1870 - M593_1596/page 61 210 - Manning, Sarah, age 61; keeping house; $800/200; born GA Mary, age 25; keeping house; born AL Rebecca, age 22; keeping house; born AL JOHN, age 21; farmer; born AL; married within the year in September Thomas, age 15; at home; born AL (should be TX instead) Martha, age 17; keeping house; born TN; married within the year in September It appears that if this is the correct John Manning, he was married prior to his marriage to Sarah/Sally E. about 1879. And living next door is who appears to be this John's older brother, William (per earlier census) 211 - Manning, William, age 38; farmer; $200/200; born AL Elizabeth, age 27; keeping house; born TN Emma, age 8; at home; born TX William, age 3; at home; born TX Lee, age 1 month; born in TX in May 1860 Leon County, Texas - Leon Township - PO Centerville - September 3, 1860 - M653_1299/page 258 297 - Sarah Manning, age 50; farming; $1000/535; born GA William M., age 25; laborer; born AL Jane, age 23; born AL (same as Catherine, below) Mary, age 17; born AL George, age 15; born AL Rebecca, age 13; born AL JOHN, age 11; born AL Alice, age 7; born AL Thomas, age 5; born TX I will post the following to the AL list to answer your request to that list. Am adding it here simply to keep things together and in order for this family. 1850 Lowndes County, Alabama - Lowndes District - December 2, 1850 - page 158B & 159A 862 - Matthew Maning, age 43?
