    3. OK, It seems we have a 'nother new set of listers that think they can sub to the list & then post back & forth off list. That is not a "game" we play here on this list.. I am putting the entire list on "watch" this means NO posts will be sent to the list untill I read them first... Then I get to choose whose post go thru to the list... If you want to send me your "feelings" on this, go for it.. But keep in mind,, I can decide to block YOUR mail to the list forever.. If this seems extreme, oh well. After a few posts from one lister, it makes me HAVE to watch the list... Do have fun people, & you might want to reread the list rules BEFORE you attempt to post to the list... BTW, I don't have a problem making the "powers to be" (rootsweb) Of the actions attempted by the listers... Have a great eveniong everyone & please take all this to heart...... Maureen List Mom

    3. I know, I know. Shower me with praise and I will keep on and keep on trying until I turn blue. This appears to be the same as the Cates family enumerated in 1850 Henry County, Georgia. Again, with just initials, but at least the family makeup is the same. Hint: I searched at Ancestry for anyone enumerated as "A. J." in 1860 Cass County and went through the list checking all those who looked promising until I found one with an apparent father with an "A" initial born NC and an apparent mother with initials "MA" born GA. This family was enumerated not only with initials only, but as Carter instead of Cates, which made finding them practically impossible: 1860 Cass County, Texas - Beat 1 - PO Linden - October 9, 1860 - page 354 104 - A. 3. In 1850 he was in Henry Co. Ga. In 1870 he was in Davis Co. Tx. 1870 shows Elizabeth as 12 years old meaning she would have been born abt. 1858 and it shows her being born in Texas. He has to be somewhere in Texas - I think. He died between 1870 and 1880 in Cass Co. Tx so I am at a loss. I couldn't find him on ancestry either - but thought you would have better luck. (You usually do).
