    2. Just for the record and I can't answer for all but I have made several requests for census lookups in TX and have never had to wait long for a response. Most times my requests were answered the next day if not the same day. If they aren't able to locate a family for me most have offered to check other areas, dates, etc. They are a valuable group of people and I wouldn't have gotten as far as I have without these wonderful volunteers. I am sure that they have several lookups per day and I applaud them and their wonderful work. Louise

    3. I believe that there are only federal census records available for Texas. I did a search online and found nothing regarding a state census for Texas. There are some records available (I think) for tax lists, etc. during Republic years and before, but not since we became a state. I checked all the Pedro Flores' in the state who were anywhere near aged 48, I checked all the Flores families who were in Menard, Uvalde and Real (Camp Wood) counties and still did not find the right family.
