A. and Susan Patterson, both age 28. He was born in Tennessee and she in North Carolina. They DID have a son named James, but he was enumerated as age 5, so I don't think he's the one you need. Linda, I think you have found them. William was said to have died (abt) 1850, so this widow is probably his. And this family has been known to travel in a "bunch". So this J.A. born in Tenn is probably William's brother, James Allen b. 1822. William b. N.C., but he and Sarah were m. Tenn 1844, and 2 of their children were born there. Do you mind sending me what you found ? The Patterson widow, and J.A. and Susan Patterson, age 28? I would appreciate it so much. I hope you know how much help you are to me (and everyone else) Thank You, Wanda

    1. Re: [TX-CEN] 1860 census lookup for John/Margaret Giles
    2. Linda Murray
    3. Kloyece, There were two John Giles indexed in 1860 Texas. One was in Rusk County, and definitely not yours. The other is indexed in both Ancestry and Genealogy.com's indexes (AIS) on page 313 of Fayette County. There is no page 313 online, so I don't know where to go next. If anyone on the list has 1860 Fayette County, Kloyece and I would very much appreciate your checking for the John Giles indexed there. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. BTW, there were none indexed as just "J" Giles or Jiles, and none of the Giles surname indexed 1860 Anderson County. 1. Re: [TX-CEN] 1920/Coombs
    2. Linda Murray
    3. Aileen, I found no Combs/Coombs families indexed in 1920 Wharton County. I also didn't find any Wainright/Wainrite or Wayne Combs/Coombs indexed anywhere in the United States in 1920, so must assume that if he were living on his on at age 21 and indexed, he was enumerated with a "W" initial. Of course, there are hundreds of those throughout the US, but none indexed in Texas. I have no index for 1910, so can't help you with that census year, but if you can tell me who Martha Coombs married, I will check 1920 for her.
