    1. Re: [TX-CEN] 1910/Bosque/Long Family
    2. Linda, About the George Deppisch? I think he might have been a step-father to John or Anna Long from Germany. I saw where he came to America in 1866 well after they were here. It was odd saying father.I haven't got any concrete information concerning who he was.I don't know where he is buried either. It said he was a widow on one of the census.I think he was around 40 years old when he came to America.John J. Long died at the age of 55 in Taylor,Williamson Co. I visited his grave but Anna isn't listed there. Anna was living with her son George W. Long in 1900 in Lampasas County. Listed as a capitolist in that county.I believe she was 70 or 71 in 1900. Haven't been able to find her after that.Checked the cemeteries in Lampasas Co. and no luck. They bought and sold properties also. They had four children. Unlike their son who spit them out.His siblings didn't have a lot of children either.I would imagine his siblings didn't think a lot about him having so many children. His children didn't have large families like him either. A lot of his children didn't have any children. Bonnie

    2. Linda, I don't know about the twin or if there was one.I do know Aunt Louise came to Ga. as I was growing up to see us and she cussed her dad William R. Long Sr. saying he kept their mother pregant all the damn time.He was a brilliant man who spoke five languages and went to Oklahoma for years to teach the Indians. But evidently he was a horny ol' goat.I would have operated on him very shortly. My Dad never said a bad word about his Dad.Aunt Louise didn't mind letting it spew. We would laugh at her when she got on her tirade. Her husband worked for the RR.. He was an engineer. They had their own private sleeper to travel where ever they choose. What the children didn't know was that William Robert Long bought and sold property where ever they lived. The children thought they were share croppers. But evidently they had sharecroppers working their land. The ol' man was too busy making babies.I have copies of deeds from Arkansas,Texas, Louisiana,Ala. What is really sad is their son William Robert Long Jr.'s life.I am trying to find where his second wife and he were living when she killed his only child with arson. And then killed herself after she was found out.Could I please ask you to look him up in 1910 to see who he was married to and see if the son is listed? His first wife died and left him with the son.I don't know either of the wife's names.I noticed he wasn't with the Longs in 1910 so he probably was married between 1900 and 1910 to the first wife.He died Sept.1939 in Houston married to his third wife Bertha. Thank you so much, Bonnie

    3. Dianne, Not sure this is the correct family, but there is a son Robert P. 6, so I kinda think it is. Wife may have died and William remarried. It's also the only Todd in 1870 TX census born in GA between the ages 41-50. 1870 Nacogdoches Co., TX, Dist. 2, Douglass P.O., August 29, 1870, Sheet 29 215, 215 Wm. M. 3. Bonnie, I took it upon myself to look at this family in 1910 because of the son Sluvens?. I suspected it was probably the Flay you mentioned in your query, but wasn't sure. In 1910 it's Flavious (sometimes shortened to Flav or Flave). You also mention a girl born in 1904 that died. Curtis, aged 6, would have been born in 1904. Were there twins and the son survived? If so, that would be there had been 15 children born. In your original email, you said William's Father was John J., born in Germany. What did you make of the George Deppisch, Father, shown on the 1900 census? 1910 Bosque Co., TX, JP 5, May 6, 1910, ED 11, Sheet 12a 200, 201 William R. 3. I am looking for BURRIS families with a connection to Walter BURRIS b.23 Dec 1879 TX. I am trying to find and confirm parents of Walter. I have 1910 Bryan Co. OK census where Walter said he was b.TX and his parents were too. I so far have found BURRIS, Vol & Sarah who had a son Walter shown as 6 mos on 1880 Precinct 2 Parker Co. TX census. (this age for Walter seems to fit with when censuses are taken) Also the 1880 Precinct 2 Parker Co. TX had a BURRIS, Jack & MF and family , as well as BURRIS, Dave and wife listed. Vol, Jack and Dave may be brothers? Names that may be connected if found in 1870, 1860, 1850 Census are: Vol b.TX parents b.KY and TN Sarah (S.B.), Walter (W.) b.TX parents b.TX Nancy (N.A.) Thomas Jack(John) b. MO parents b.KY and TN Dave Thank you. Happy Trails, Joan http://www.geocities.com/crystalwoman_2000
