    2. david george
    3. James P. Garrett, Aug 1875 / William Garrett, Feb 1885 / Sidney Garrett, July 1888 / Andrew Garrett, Jan 1890. All children of Richard Garrett, Nov 1852 GA and Zilpha Lott, May 1853 GA. Both died in Gillespie Co. in 1896. These are the male siblings of my Grand Mother, Mary Adeline Garrett, August 9, 1878 Gillespie Co. TX. I do believe Sidney moved to AZ but perhaps one or more of the others remained in the area. I would really be happy to make contact with one of them and possibly swap information. Looking forward to your reply and thank you for being a volunteer. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? New and Improved Yahoo! 2. PS to Linda in Georgia I forgot to mention in my earlier email that there is a Texas connection to the Switzer family. The grandson of the David Switzer I was looking for in the 1850 MD census, David Peter Switzer, moved to Denton, Texas and had several children there. He married Effie, maiden name unkn. The children I know of were Elmer W b 1901: Grace E b 1903, and Vera L b 1908. Sorry for the oversight. Thanks again for all your help. Marguerite

    2. Hi Linda in Georgia I have forwarded Johnny's look up information to MD for their archives. The only way I know how to do it is forward his information to [email protected] I guess this is the way to do it. I had sent 2 different requests to that lookup site for information on the 1850 census and got no response. I appreciate the help from my Texas lookup friends for helping me on this one. Marguerite.

    2. Wow, thank you many times over, Linda in Texas. You could find a needle in a haystack. I keep forgetting that people aren't always the "Heads" of their own household, especially when they are first starting out. Wow, I'm still amazed. Thanks a lot. 3. Marguerite, Since this has no apparent Texas connection, please repost to the Maryland Census Lookup List. I don't find any Switzer query in their archives for 2004, so you should probably just repost in case it didn't get to the list. Yes, we have lots of folks who are good to help on the Texas list, but there are many wonderful folks who are happy to help on the Maryland lists too. 1. 1910/Ellis/Washington
    2. Seeking information on Margaret F. Washington nee McClendon, born July 1848 in St. Clair Co., Alabama. She appears as head of household in the 1900 census of Ellis County, Texas. Her children as listed in the 1900 census were: John W., born 8/6/1879 in Ala., Ida born 5/3/1877, Nancy Idella, born 12/22/1881, and Nellie, born June 1884. She had married children that had left her household that she might be living with in 1910: John W. Washington was living in Vernon, Texas about 1910, Alphonso P. Washington was living in McLennan Co Texas about that time, Isaac C. was living in St. Clair Co, Alabama so I don't think she would be with him. I don't have a date of death for her, so she might have died before the 1910 census. Thanks Emmitt

    1. Re: [TX-CEN] Surname Boze
    2. Linda Huff
    3. Hi Martha and welcome, If you are looking for Alida under the name of Boze, she wouldn't show up that way until 1940 census and those records aren't available yet. Don't know if you have prior census records or not. If you are looking for 1920 and 1930, you need to send an inquiry to the LA-CEN list. The 1920 census is indexed by head of household only, so you'd need to post the Father's name if you have it. 1930 has an every name index (Ancestry.com) so they could look for Alida Crais. Also, in the subject line, always try to put what you are looking for which helps the person doing the look-up. i.e. 1930/Baton Rouge/Crais Watch for when the 1940 census records are released and you can inquire in TX.
