Thanks Linda, now all I have to do is 'try' and find out if this was Pleasant Ramsour's mother. I was sure hoping he lived in the household with Jency (Jenny) Jones. Have a Great Weekend! (I'm going camping!) Dena
Nancy I got to thinking maybe you didn't have any of the census records after all so here is the 1920 Fannin county, Honey Grove record on Bela James. It's roll 1803, pg 118 2nd ward. Some of the writing was hard to read so I've put ? in those spots. Bela A James age 60 b. KY parents KY Rents propery, propery mgr wife Udora " 41 b. GA " GA dtr B ? " 19 b TX " Opie " 17 " " Vossie " 16 " son Brons ? " 15 " " Dela " 13 " (maybe the enumerator meant to write "Bela" on this one) " Mosier?? Hope this helps. Marguerite

Searching for August Scharf m Maria Elizabeth (Stoecklin) born in Switzerland in 1830, Married Jan 15, 1853 in Gasconade County, Hermann, Missouri and seems to disappeared after. Per her father's will of 1881, she was deceased with children, tho no mention of names nor where they lived. I would be most appreciative if anyone can locate this family. Beginning with the 1860 census please. I was unaware that an all name census is now available to search thru. Wonderful! Sharon Missouri
Hi Nancy I found your Bela James in Fannin county 1910 and 1920 but not in 1900. Maybe someone else with a different resource than I have can find him for you. Sorry Marguerite

Request a look up on Bela James, county unknown, but would be in the Northeast Texas area. Bela James would be a male, approximately 42, wife's name Dora. Children would be Bronston, Manco and O.P. Bela James would have come to Texas from Kentucky. Here we go again with my crazy James gang and their most unusual names! hahahaha Thanks so much ahead of time. Warm regards from Texas; Nancy
Thanks anyway Linda - the family must have moved on. Kind regards, Pat, Mission, B.C. ____________________________________________________ > Pat, I'm sorry, but I simply cannot find them in 1870. OK gang, I 'think' I may have come up with a possibility for Pleas Ramsour's mother. I went to ancestry.com, typed in 'Jency' with the birth place of Louisiana for the 1870 Texas census and up popped a 'Jency Jones, Waco, McLennen, TX., Pg. 48'. Will somebody 'when you get the time' look at this household for me? She should be black. Thanks again! Dena
Regarding Pleasant (Pleas) Ramsour, the ONLY thing I know about this man is that he's mulatto, his wife at the time should be Mattie, place born..I haven't a clue as I can't locate Pleas at all on the 1870 census even though he states he was born in Texas. Now, his mother on the other hand married a man by the name of James Boland and her name was Jency, she states she was born in Louisiana. I found Pleas on the 1880 census (age 27) listed as P. Ramson married to his first wife (1872) who's name was Amanda (age 27), and they lived in Smith County. In 1884, I find a marriage record for Pleas and Maggie Davis in Gregg Texas at the time, I think this was a part of Rusk County. I'm just trying to find clues in the census records. I was asking about the Perry's because in 1880, Pleas's mother and stepfather (James R. and Jency Boland) have a niece living in the house with them by the name of Lavinia Perry (age 14) who's mother was born in Louisiana as was Jency. So now, I'm looking for the household of Pleasant Ramsour in 1900 who, as oral history goes, lived in Rusk County, Texas at the time. Gee, I hope I'm not confusing anybody because the more I type, the more I sound confused to my own self. Anyway, thanks for reading and if any help can be provided, I would really appreciate it. I'm also thinking that Pleasant changed his last name after the 1870 census... Thanks Gang! Dena
