I think, maybe, that you are going to find that the Edwards children belong to P.G., too...there are too many of them to think that they are foster children or relative's children....and P.G. is ten years older than Weeks, he is only 30 in the 1870 census, so he would have been 10 in 1850....So I think she married and Edwards before she married Strother... Speaking of which, I have an Elisha Strother and a Samuel Strother, in Missouri, in 1850..If you find a connection to either of them, let me know... >From: "Estella Mims" <[email protected]> >Reply-To: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: Re: [TX-CEN] Weeks-1870-Navarro >Date: Fri, 30 Jul 2004 16:57:25 -0700 > >I got the image. I got the image. Yes I knew P.G Weeks was married to a Walter Strother before J.M. Weeks. I just wasn't expecting to see her married to Strother in 1860. According to the information I had she married J.M. Weeks in Denton, Texas in 1850. P.G. and Walter were supposed to have 2 children I believe, so maybe that is who Mary and Jane are and they were mistakenly put under the Edwards name in 1870. I was really surprised to find the Edwards kids with P.G. in 1860 and again not with their parents. I didn't even imagine they had been with her that long. I did find an 1850 Sabine census that shows Walter, P.G. and a farmer named Curtus Jackson, but no children. What is really interesting is what I found in San Augustine, Texas census 1850. I have never found anyone with the exact name as the William C. Edwards I found living with P.G. from 1850-1880. Sabine county and San Augustine County are right next to each other. I wonder if the Edwards kids are related to P.G. or Walter Strother? Next I will have to see if there are any death records for Sabine or San Augustine county showing William C. Edwards and Sarah J. Edwards. I just realized that the Robert W. Edwards age 1 might be the same as Walter Edwards living with P.G. Strother in 1860. I'll cross my finger that this is the breakthrough I am looking for. Hello All, this is a big request and trust me, if you have to go through a lot of trouble to find this person..forget it (for the moment anyway lol). I'm looking for the household information for Joe and his wife Lavina (Vina) Jordan in 1900 Rusk County, Texas. They 'should' have a daughter by this time by the name of Sallie as being the oldest. Joe should be between 30-40 years old and Vina should be between 28-35 years old, as the 1880 census shows her as being 8. I don't have the precinct, nor do I have the page number. This is an African American family. I really need this information as I have really 'goofed up' in my family history book and need to make a few MAJOR corrections. Any and all help will be appreciated. Thanks All! -Dena Jordan California
