    3. Hi Sandra, Thank you for getting back to me so quick. I would love a photo of the grave and a copy of the death cert for Minor. Until Christmas Eve we did not know what had happened to Millicent after 1944. She had been a teacher at an expensive girls school in Sydney, NSW, Aust and then we could not find any trace of her. We knew she had married Minor BARTLETT but could not find any marriage certifiacte for them. A kind soul forwarded to me a list of passengers from Manila to the USA. This ship has War Brides on it, thus we followed the line of thought that she may have been a War Bride. It there a web site over there that we can look up for Minor's war service records? Once again, thank you so much for your help. 3. Hi Glynis, We all love stories like this! I'm not positive but I think WWII records are still private. Anybody else know? Thought I would mention that San Antonio has one of the largest concentration of military bases in the US, with Lackland, Kelly, Brooks, and Randolph Air Force bases, and Fort Sam Houston army base, plus one of the big National Cemeteries at Fort Sam Houston, so we have lots of war brides here, and altho they are passing on, they proudly refer to themselves as war brides and maintain they accent of their homeland (quite distinguishable from a south Texan). It would be cool if you could locate friends of theirs. Growing up here, it was always a thrill to meet a war bride, somewhat akin to our queen of Fiesta in my eyes. ;-) I found his enlistment record on Ancestry, but no image to send you: His father was Monor Earl Bartlett also. I'll keep looking.
