    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Adair, Toney, Ray, Gilbert Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/iQTBAIB/132 Message Board Post: Sorry for the duplication, but I was asked to re-post so more people would receive this message. I hope some of you Tweed family researchers can clear up a very puzzling question I have. My GGgrandfather was Hiram King Gilbert b. 1826 in Buncombe County, NC. Listed in records as King, Hiram, H. K. but mostly as King Gilbert. Marriage no. one was to Ruth Henderson of Buncombe County, NC b.1834 They married on April 04, 1852 in Marshall, Madison, North Carolina. Now the BIG question, after Ruth’s death King Gilbert married a second time in 1775, his wife in the 1880 Madison Co. Census is named Viny, (sounds like a nick name to me) Family Search.com has her as Jarusa or Jerusa TWEED b.11 Aug 1855, King Gilbert’s spouse. King Gilbert and Jarusa or Jerusa TWEED is listed as both Male and Female. Jarusa or Jerusa was born a Female in NC and as a Male in Greene Co. TN. (same birth date of 11 Aug 1855 for both locations) the one common tie is the same father and mother, Abner Grainger TWEED b.1825 , Yancey, Tennessee d.4 Feb 1907, White Rock, Madison Co., NC. and Jane S. PINNER m. 25 Jun 1852, Big Laurel, North Carolina. Is Jarusa or Jerusa a male or female? Was she/he called Viny and was she/he married before marrying King Gilbert? I hope I haven’t confused all of you but this has really been a tough search for me, Thanks for your help. Dennis
