    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/iQTBAIB/144.1.1 Message Board Post: Unfortunately not . There are at least 2 very distinct branches of the Tweeds, in Suffolk. My lot from 1500ish, Birch , Essex = Stoke-by-Clare, Suffolk and then beyond....known as the ' Suffolk Tweeds ' ( or the Rich ones - at one time ) . Then there are whats known as the ' Cambridge Tweeds' , from Cheveley, Newmarket ect areas. Researchers over 25 years tell me no link between the two has yet been found. It appears to me that before Birch in Essex and those in Cambridge....looking at early Wiils, there seems to be Twidds..Tyddes in Norfolk.....which will be investigated in about 10 years time !!. I have noted that quite a few Tweeds from the Cambridge area seem to have also settled in Kent...but not fully investigated them there yet. There is a small Cambridge Tweed Tree on the web - under The Edwards Family Tree which might be of interest to you and many Cambridge Tweed Trees on the free website GenCircles. - Clif - Clif
