ISSAC QUINTARD, born in Lusignan, Province of Poitou, France, Prior to 1670, died in Stamford, Conn., between 6 Nov. 1714 and 15 Jan. 1715, the dates of his will and of its probate, son of Isaac and Marie(-------) Quintard of Lusignan. He married in Bristol, England, in the Chapel of the Gaunt, 26 Nov. 1693, JEANNE FUME, dau of Daniel and Esther (Herault) Fume', who had emigrated to Bristol from Mescheres in Saintonge, France, in 1688. Isaac Quintard's father was a manufacturer of serge cloth, who emigrated to Bristol in 1693 with his son, soon after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes. In 1697 Isaac came to New York City, where he joined the French Church on Wall Street; and on 1 Oct. 1708, then a merchant in New York City, he bought land in Stamford, (CT??), from Robert Embree. His will was proved in Fairfield, Conn., and his estate was appraised at L1742. >>
