According to "Tuttle and Tuthill Lines in America" by Alva Tuttle, Ara was a son of Clement. Alva references "History of Ashtabula County, Ohio, 1878", and lists his children as Mary, born July 20, 1813; Maria, born May 21, 1815; Asahel born June 4, 1817; Lucius, born October 11 1819; Uriel, born July 10, 1821; Lewis, born April 21, 1823; Martha, born September 2, 1825, Clement, born July 9, 1827; John, died at age 14, Denmark, IA; Jas H., born Jun 1833; Sarah, born 1835; Benj., born c 1837; Persis M., born c 1839. Alva cites the 1850 US Census for Ira's family. Farmer aged 62, Charry aged 62, Geo 32, Martha 21, Charlotte 20, Emery F. 1. A second reference "Further data collected by William H. Tuttle of Clockville, Madison Co.,N Y, local historian" lists the children as Bradford, died July 7,1810; Eben, September 23, 1812; Harriet N, November 30, 1814; George Virgil (is this the one you are interest in?), Marc 24, 1817; Harmon P., March 24, 1821; Charlotte J., March 3, 1830. Alva has a George B. born c 1824 in Ohio. In 1860 US Census, Chardon, Ohio; farmer 36; Wealthy A. 27, born NY; Frank H. 4; Marian L. 2, William, 3 months, all children born in Ohio. George B.'s parent isn't listed as they are when Alva knows who the father is. Don't think this will help much as it doesn't look like either Ara or Ira is the father. Sorry, Hal Haswell ______________________________________________________________________ Original note: Does anyone know the children of twins Ira and Ara Tuttle.
