    3. I am searching for any information concerning what happened to a Nathan TUTTLE who moved to Marion County, Iowa in the early-to-mid 1840's and apparently died before 1850 (or he moved away). He was from Ohio, county unknown, and before that from North Carolina. He was a widower -- his wife Rosanna FAIRCLUFF had died in Ohio in 1840. I speculate he was born about 1790-1800. Nathan and Rosanna had two known daughters: Martha Ann Tuttle m. William Jackson McClain Caroline Rosanna Tuttle m. John Slaughterback There was an unknown older daughter and an unknown only son, born about 1838. It is believed this son was a Charles Tuttle. There could have been other daughters. Both of the known daughters crossed the plains on the Oregon Trail and settled in Oregon. Martha was my gr-gr-grandmother. Thank you for any help. Nancy Shire
