    2. Theresa Ragsdale
    3. Morning All, I am on the hunt for William Nelson Tuttle's father.  William N. Tuttle was born in April 1844.  I lived in Todd County, MN and Bowman County, ND.  I have recently found out that he came to Michigan in his 20s to work in the saw mills from Canada.  Another recent piece of information is that the family came through Niagara Falls to NY.  It is not know if this was going to or from NY.  William N. Tuttle's father name is Walter Tuttle.  His name could be Walter William Tuttle.  Walter Tuttle and his wife Ella Nelson more than likely passed away in Canada. I would grateful for any thoughts on where to look for information.  On aside note (I do not have access to Ancestry.com's Canadian's records).  In addition, I do not know where to look for Canada info.  The only tidbit I have from a US census record is that they could have lived in Canada West. I would also be oh so grateful if anyone would contact me on any family member of there that could possibly be my William, Walter, or Ella Tuttle. Thank you for all the help you have given me in the past. Many thanks you, Theresa

Youngs who arrived from England, landed at New Haven, CT and in Sep 1640 sailed across the sound to Long Island and named the place Southold. Henry Tuthill, John's brother, can be found iln Hingham, Mass. He owned property there so he must have remained for awhile before going to Southold. You may find it interesting that there are still Tuthills on Long Island. Also interesting is the name Gooch. John Underhill either married a Helena Gooch or his mother was a Gooch. Small world. 3. Thanks for the reply, Denise. Yes, there are MANY spellings of the name. I was told it was originally TOTHILLS, derived from the artificial grave mounds called "tothills", which are found in several English counties. Good luck. 3. Paul, I'm mailing you copies of the death cert. and also the SSDI today. Note: the ssnumbers, d&pob are different and how to find the source of the error is interesting at best. To answer your question, go to google and type in Wilford Tuttle and you'll find my whole Tuttle family. In fact, I'm wondering who put it on rootsweb. I certainly have no objection, but I didn't do it although my name is there! Another mystery.
