Permission by John FRANKLIN 7 Dec 1826. Sudith D. TURNER m. Sally FRANKLIN 16 Dec 1826. I am still looking for the name of the wife of John Meridy Turner. The only clue I have ever had is that she might have been a Suddoth because they helped Elizabeth settle her husband's estate. Could anyone tell me if there could possibly be some connection to the Suddoth family? I have thought it possible that his wife, Elizabeth, might have been a SUDDOTH. The reasons are: === 1. Lewis SUDDOTH is the executor of John TURNER's estate. "I hereby appoint my friends Robert Green, Lewis SUDDOTH, & Joseph Morgan, my Executors of this my last Will and Testament" (1815) John Suddoth is a witness to the will. === 2. In September of 1816, daughter Mary H. was married to John GARNER by George LEMMON, Episcopal minister. The marriage bond was dated 21 September 1816 and the bondsman was Lewis SUDDOTH, the executor of her father's estate. === 3. Before the appraisal of the estate made on 26 August 1828 Elizabeth TURNER died. On that date John EUSTACE, William HANSBOROUGH, George DUFF & John SUDDOTH were sworn to appraise the estate again. === 4. "A List of the sales of the Estate of John Turner decd sold 4th of Sept. 1828 includes . 1 rye shock John SUDDOTH 0.45 === 5. The sale of the land was executed in a deed dated 17 October 1828 between Carola G. A. JENNINGS & Mary his wife to Lewis SUDDOTH for $351.12 paid by Lewis SUDDOTH, confirming unto Lewis SUDDOTH one certain tract being "that part of the tract of land on which John TURNER resided at the time of his death & of which he died possessed & on which the dwelling house & other houses stand." === 6. Another deed was recorded on, 31 August 1829, between Carola G. A. JENNINGS & Mary his wife for $351 from Joseph MORGAN for one certain parcel of land lying on the waters of Marsh Run in Fauquier being a part of the tract of land owned by John TURNER decd. at the time of his death & bounded as follows "Beginning at a large Spanish oak standing at the junction of North Marsh & Elk Marsh runs and running thence to John SUDDOTH and Lewis SUDDOTH to a dead maple standing near the head of the Big Beaver dam thence up the meanders of the Marsh Run to the beginning." It appears that JENNINGS was an intermediary so that the executors of John TURNER could buy his land. === 7. An account of the Executors was made on 26 October 1829 showing they had receipts of $505.90? which (minus what they had spent) left a total balance of $289.98. "The estate of Jno. TURNER decd. in account current with Joseph MORGAN and Lewis SUDDOTH Exors. === There is a will 12 Oct 1779 in Fauquier WB 1:384 for Francis Southard that names his eldest dau Elizabeth. It does not say if she is married and I do believe that my Elizabeth would have married before 1770.
