I recently visited the cemetery at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Corner, AL (Jefferson County) where my great-grandparents, William Burl Turner and Marietta Pace Turner are buried. Also in that cemetery (and I don't know of a connection to my Turners) are: Parkes Turner (1878-1899); Carrie Turner (1882-1900); Ruby Turner (1896-1897);Arnolton Turner (Feb 23, 1920-Mar. 11, 1920); James M. Turner (May 9, 1853-Jul 1, 1934) and on the same stone, Rhoda A. Turner (July 22, 1861-May 24, 1948); Emmit Turner (Sept 30, 1880-Mar 1, 1974); Eliza Tanner Turner (June 12, 1864-Apr. 29, 1947); Odessa Turner (1895-1986) and on same stone E. Jesse Turner (1885-1964); and finally, Ozell Turner (Sep 4, 1914-Oct 29, 1939). As I said, as far as I know none of these are related to my Turners but, since they are in the same cemetery and some are actually very near my Turners, there may be a connection so if anyone recognizes them, please tell me who they belong to--it might help with my brick wall, William Beverly Turner of Cobb Co., GA, who is father to the William Burl Turner mentioned here.
