Audrae: I apologize, you have questioned my postings before. Do you remember, I asked for your help at one time and you never replied. I am not a professional genealogist, just someone trying to find out about my Turner line.....Just like many others. I find it surprising that some individuals don't want to share what they have documented, that is why there is so much miss information out there now. My own line is posted wrong in numerous places and I have never posted it.....someone else has, therefore I cannot correct the mistakes. All I have done is asked for help finding my Turners on this TURNER list. I really thought that was the purpose. I am sorry if I have misunderstood the purpose of this list , offended anyone with my amatuer methods and for the time of the many Turner list members that I have wasted. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, March 07, 2005 06:40 PM Subject: Re: [TURNER] Roll Call > I am also a William Turner/Sarah Denney Turner descendant, coming from their > son Nathan. Deborah good for you I also do this as a hobby and do the best I can to post only what is true, but have found other postings of my line that some one has posted on the web and looks like they have used some of my info. and where they obtained the other I sure don't know. I don't think you owe anyone a apologize. I post only thing that to the best of my knowledge is true, and if someone finds it is not correct let me know, I sure want to know if it is not true. I for one am not perfect. Hello Turner List followers> This problem of confirming information is much larger than you can imagin. I used information acquired from the archives in Utah for years. And it was totaly wrong. I have a Jubal Turner b. 1793, who married a Milly Ross (b. 1797). The archives stated she was a Milly Ross of Kentucky, daughter of a John Ross, (who was listed as a supposed chief of indians in Kentucky). I was puzzled, for a long time. I was able to finally acquire the location of there marriage, in Virginia, even who, they were married by, and who her surety was by (normally a relative, father, brother, etc.). Her surety at the wedding was a Sutherland Ross, also of Virginia, and a son of a John Ross of Virginia. I have more confidence in using the John Ross of Virginia, and a brother Sutherland Ross than I do a chief of Indians in Kentucky. So much said, you have to question even the archives in Utah. I have another family of Wild, Utah's archives continually spell this name two ways, Wilde, and also a Wilf. We have to do our own questioning, and hope for the best and most proof. Have been doing this for many many years, and still have to do my own questioning. Have a great day, here it is going to be warm (70 in Oregon, in March, most unusual, but that is the way it will be). Evelyn
