I was born at my grandmother's home.(1927) Mother knew no one in the town where she and Dad were living so she went home to have me.She gave the Dr. my name and he recorded it. She then decided the spelling of my middle name should be changed and gave him the change. He just recorded it again and did not change the first birth certificate so I have 2 certificate with a different spelling of Raymond.One with the d and one without. Donald

I can relate to what you are saying. My mother when she was born was to have the middle name "Ellen" but family memebers were not happy - they wanted Elizabeth. Both names are used in the family, and it was a surprise to me when my mom passed 17 years ago to find that she never did have a middle name!!! She did have a social security card, etc, showing Mary Ellen...
