I am looking for any information on the following Turner line. My earliest known ancestor was John Turner, (married to Anne ?). He wrote his will in Halifax Co, VA, on December 13, 1771, and it was proved in court on May 17, 1781. Security bond was by William Turner and John Irvine. Known children from a deed in Halifax Co. on May 9, 1786: (My line) Champness "Champ" Turner--married to Elizabeth Wisdom, daughter of Thomas Wisdom and Martha Lewis. Thomas Turner Tandy Turner Francis Turner Marah Turner Elzabeth Turner Isham Turner Champness "Champ" Turner moved to Laurens County, SC between 1786 and 1790. He was there in the census of 1790 and 1800. In the census of 1810, Champness was in Abbeville Co., SC. When his brother Thomas Turner died in 1823 in Laurens Co., SC, Champness was listed as being in Greene Co., Alabama. I presently do not have any information on any of Champness Turner's children except my ancestor Lewis Turner, who married Ajesta Kennedy in Clark Co., Alabama in 1817 and settled in Simpson Co., Mississippi in 1821. I have participated in the Turner DNA project and belong to Group 2-Goldenrod. Mark A. Turner
