Nancy and Wm. were my gr (3x) grandparents. I believe that my Nancy B. is the sibling of John Mastin Turner. Nancy was born abt. 1786 and census indicate she was born in Virginia. On the 1820 census, Lincoln Co., TN., Wm. Wainwright is enum., next door to Woodson Turner. Nancy and Wm. were married abt. 1825 in Lincoln Co., TN. 1830 census, Woodson is still in Lincoln Co., and Nancy and Wm. have gone to Ala. John Mastin is enum. on the 1840 census, Lincoln Co., TN., as Mastin. I found 6 Turner males that were born in Lincoln Co., TN., between 1810 and 1836. Also on that 1840 census in Lincoln Co., is a W.H. Turner, which I believe to be Woodson Turner. At Ancestry.com OneWorldTree's I found a John Mastin Turner, born Apr 1800. John Mastin had a son, William M. Turner that was born in Lincoln Co., TN., in 1826. John Mastin named one of his sons Mastin G. and Nancy & Wm. named one of their sons Mastin G. Given the facts above I am lead to believe that John Mastin Turner and Woodson Turner are the siblings of my Nancy B. Turner, who married Wm. Wainwright. Are you a Turner desc. or a Wainwright desc (or, like myself, both)? I sure would like to hear back from you so we can discuss the evidence that I mention above. I haven't done a whole lot of digging, but the digging that I have done, I'm wondering if Pleasant Turner and Agnes Woodson are the parents of Nancy, John M., and Woodson. given the fact that Agnes Woodson Turner's maiden name was Woodson and there is a male Woodson Turner. I do have a really nice desc. report on William and Nancy Turner Wainwright, should the occasion call for it I would be willing to share that with you.
