SOME TURNERS OF VIRGINIA   by Louise Patton Richardson Turner Starts with "OldTerisha" 1.     TERISHA TURNER, (sometimes spelled and probably pronounced Terr’ isha. since the nickname was Terry) first patented 200 acres on the south side of the James river, 15 Dec. 1749 (Patents No. 27, 1748-9, p. 5 19) and was of Albemarle Co. in Oct. 1751 when he and his wife, Sarah, sold to Michael Rowland of Cumberland Co. the same 200 A. at the heads of Deep Run,  Run. a branch of Muddy Creek. adjoining William Ferrises and Nicholas Davis. (Cumberland Deed Bk. 1:442) He was granted 136 A. on the south branches of the Hardware river in 1760 which he and Sarah sold In 1777. On 5 Oct. 1770 Terisha Turner of the parish and county of Amherst paid  L  I 55. 0 to John Scott and Margaret (Fry) his wife for I 557 A. on the branches of Parroge (sic) creek. http://www.drewa.com/Some%20Turners%20of%20Virginia.htm This is not my Turner line It can be helpful for many Turner researchers pjd 5/21/05
