The following are some of the Turners who served in Wars in the United States: Elisha Turner, Castleton Campaign 1781 Vermont George Washington Abbott served in the Civil War (my fathers GUncle). Joseph Louis Turner served in the Civil War, later died in Illinois. Louis Olin Turner served in WWI , First Division, WWI in France. Walter Allen Turner served in the South Pacific, 32nd Division. from Bouganville to Luzon. June in NH

Turner, b. 29 Aug. 1898, d. 1 Jan. 1952 U.S. Marine Corps, 15 Sep. 1917, 15 Sep. 1919 son of George M. Turner (1863-1923) Greensburg, IN and Nannie Ambrose. son of George W. Turner (1838-1917) Switzerland Co., IN and Mary Debard. He served in the 47th Reg. of Indiana Volunteers from 10 Oct. 1861 to 23 Oct. 1865. son of John W. Turner (1813-1886) Switzerland Co., In and Sabra Graham. son of William Turner (1782-c.1860) Accomack Co., VA and Tabitha Pruett. son of Smith Turner (c.1750-1831) Accomack Co., VA He enlisted in the 9th Virginia Rgt. of the Continental Line from July 1776 to January 1778.
