According to family legend both Robert Turner and his wife Rosannah McCarter Turner participated in the Battle of Kings Mountain in North Carolina during the Revolutionary War, he in fighting against the British and she in caring for the wounded. I visit their grave quite often but made a special point to visit today. I placed an American flag there to acknowledge and thank them for their part in the freedom we enjoy today.
