Like many researchers, I am subscribed to multiple lists and do not have time to look at every message on every list. If you want your message to be read by those who may have helpful information, use the subject line to get their attention. Names, dates, and locations should be shown. A sample subject line might be: Finis Ewing Turner: 1823-1905 (TN>AR) which denotes that I am looking for F.E. Turner, b. 1823, TN; d. 1905, AR. I might also say: Finis Ewing Turner m. Mary Jane Spain 1856, IL to indicate the marriage date and location if I did not have birth and death data. Subject lines like these will help both the poster and the lister in making connections far more than subjects such as: "Need help" "Turner Family" (especially to the Turner list) "John Turner" (which John Turner?) "Hello" "Maryland to Georgia" (Who?When?) David Holland --------------------------------- Yahoo! Music Unlimited - Access over 1 million songs.Try it free.
