    1. another unconnected TURNER line
    2. My TURNER line is one of my major brick walls. My father's parents never married, and I am looking for any information on my grandfather Robert Lee TURNER born in northern Alabama between approx. 1890 and 1900 and his family line. He was thought to be around 10 years older than my grandmother, Nancy Cornelia PAYNE who was born in 1903. From information passed down from the family he was born to a Robert S. TURNER, who had a brother named Oliver. This brother named Oliver, had a son that he named Oliver also, and he and my grandfather being first cousins, were about the same age. I have found this information that appears to be on my TURNER family line in the online 1880 census: Household Record 1880 United States Census Household: Name Relation Marital Status Gender Race Age Birthplace Occupation Father's Birthplace Mother's Birthplace W. M. TURNER Self M Male W 53 TN Farmer --- --- E. C. TURNER Wife M Female W 47 VA House Keeper VA VA Ann E. TURNER Dau S Female W 16 AL Student TN VA John L. TURNER Son S Male W 14 AL Student TN VA Robt. S. TURNER Son S Male W 12 AL Student TN VA Oliver P. TURNER Son S Male W 9 AL Student TN VA Source Information: Census Place Township 3, South Florence, Colbert, Alabama Family History Library Film 1254008 NA Film Number T9-0008 Page Number 365B -------------------------------------- I have not been able to find Robert Lee TURNER or his cousin Oliver TURNER in any other census, or even one that looks to be similar as far as approximate, age, birthplace, family members, etc. Nor have I been able to find any other family members. I understand from talk in the family that possibly there was a third Oliver TURNER in the Oliver TURNER line that is around my Dad's age in his 70's...but have not been able to find him or make contact. Robert Lee TURNER was also supposed to have a sister that married a man named Howard JOHNSON...but just try researching THAT one! LOL Robert Lee TURNER also was thought to have fathered another child, and he and this woman never married either. The child's name was Kenneth HARRIS, as he was not given his father's last name, but his mother's name is unknown. He was born in 1932 and was said to have been killed in the Korean War, though I have not been able to find record of him either. Last know whereabouts of Robert Lee TURNER, was he was thought to have left Alabama in the mid 30's and moved to central Florida. If any of this sounds familiar to anyone, I would love to be able to find out more information for my father regarding his family, and help fill in some branches on our family tree. Anna Turner Ely
