Don't know if this is the same Isom that Lisa had records for in Texas or not. 1820 Census of Richmond Co., NC p. 170 has an Isom Turner and a Thomas Turner. Not living adjacent but both of them are living near people with last name Pate so that the census taker's route may indicate they lived closer than they appear. There was an Isham Turner in GA by at least 1801 because the Headright and Bounty Grant index shows several grants to an Isham Turner in Liberty County, GA in the 1801-1805 time period. 1805 Land Lottery list (and it required 3 years residency in GA when registration was done in 1803) Isham Turner living in Liberty Co. had two draws--he won one lot called a "prize" and one was what was called a "blank". He had to have been a married man to get two draws. Isham is not on the 1806 or 1809 Tax lists for Liberty Co. (which have been published). However, there is an Isham Turner on the Baldwin Co., 1810 Tax list living in Coxe's Militia District. The lots given out during the 1805 Land Lottery were in Baldwin and Wilkinson County. So, it is entirely possible that the move for Isham Turner (assuming it is the same man) from Liberty Co. to Baldwin Co. can be explained by that win he had on the 1805 Land Lottery. But whether this was the same Isham Turner who later shows up in 1830 in Marion County I don't know. I did a quick check of records I have for GA which includes the published tax digests (which certainly are not comprehensive) and land lottery info (only winners of lots were listed after the 1805 list which included all that registered) and I don't find any other mentions of Isham between 1810 and 1830 which is a pretty long time to be missing if it is the same man.
