Hello Brenda. This is NOT my research,or my TURNER line; but several researchers on ANCESTRY show His parents as: Rev, James TURNER Sr. 1705-1793 and Mary ADMIRE d/o George ADMIRE Probate of above does not list James Jr. among heirs. James TURNER II b ca 1745 married 2x. Jane ANDERSON & Martha (Patsy) PHELPS pjd 1/11/07 On Jan 10, 2007, at 10:11 PM, genieb@cddn.com wrote: > Who were the parents of the James Turner who married Jane Anderson in > Pittsylvania Co., VA on 27 Nov 1784? > Brenda Carroll > > ---
That makes sense but it also brings up the question of maternity for some of James' children. The James that died ca 1802 in Franklin Co., VA has a probate record and a copy should be arriving in my mailbox soon. You would know that my ancestor's DOB would fall in this questionable time frame. Does anyone have any idea when Jane Anderson Turner died? OR, when the 2nd marriage took place? That would help determine which children belonged to which wife. James Turner, Jr., left an inventory which named his wife "Patty". Usually "Patty" or "Patsy" is a nickname for Martha not Jane. Patty is listed in James' probate from Franklin Co., VA.
