JOHN A. TURNER, JR. Longtime resident John A. Turner, Jr. died April 15, 1999 after a battle with lung cancer. He was 64. John was born July 28, 1934 in Evansville, Arizona. As part owner of Al Morrison Agency in Auburn he spent the last 25 years selling real estate. John had a passion for baseball having played fast pitch softball in his younger days. Participating on the Army All Services Team, he qualified as a world class pitcher. He enjoyed making numerous handcrafted wood items in his shop and he created a haven for squirrels and birds in his back yard amongst the many spectacular flowers that he enjoyed tending to. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Betty) of 38 years; son Larry Moen of Auburn; daughters Kris (Moen) Hart of Yelm, and Pan Turner of Auburn; grandchildren Tara Moen of Federal Way, Andrew Moen of Sumner, and Amity Hart of Pullman; great granddaughter Kyla Moen of Federal WAy; his mother Sarah Turner, of Auburn, brothers Charles Turner of Spokane and Wayne Turner of Auburn; several nieves and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father John Turner, Sr. on July 6, 1993. John will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
