    1. [TURNER-L] NELSON TURNER

    3. PJ Dennis wrote of Nelson Turner, born in 1782, Louden Co, VA. Our Nelson, b 1797, was the 4th generation of tobacco farmers from Henrico county, so I doubt there's a connection all the way up in Louden County. But the name NELSON raises flags........ The name Nelson pops up in our line right out of the blue with no prior family or person with the same name. We lose track of our guy in KY so haven't been able to determine if there were other Nelsons in the line. It just struck me that Lord Admiral Horation Nelson was well known because of his heroics in the Napoleonic Wars then, and that may account for so many incidences of such an unusual given name at that time. Does anyone have any insight/information into this theory?
