Hi, I'm new to this group but not at all new to genealogy. I am hoping to trace parents of one ancester. His name was William GODWIN and he was born in Derbyshire, England, 1789. Family history says he deserted the army and fled to America, adding the name TURNER along the way. He eventually settled in Southern Ohio (Scioto Co. about 1814-1816) and married, produced 10 children. I have information on all his descendants and am not seeking any information on them. I know he is not related to any other TURNER families. I am only seeking info on his ancestry in Derbyshire. Sue Bishop
