I will give my request again since there are so many new people on the list. My gr.gr.grandmother was Eliza Turner. She was born ca. 1810. One census says she was born in TN. Another says VA. She married Alexander Thomas Logan on June 22, 1836 in TN or VA. Their first child, Martha Jane was born in VA. Eliza's parents were well-to-do as her father gave them "one Negro woman, one Negro man and one 12 year old Negro boy" when they got married. I have a lot of info on the Logan line. but have been unable to find Eliza's family. In one census her name was spelled Turney. Family story is that she was, at least, one-quarter Cherokee. I always take those stories with a large grain of salt! Years ago I sent to every county in VA for a wedding cert. and found nothing. I believe they were married in TN in her family home.
