Hi fellow Rooters - Searching for any information on my paternal grandmother Bessie Lee TURNER, her ancestors or possible siblings, and exactly where in Tennessee she was born, if indeed she was born there. Bessie Lee TURNER b. 13-Oct-1864 Tennessee d. 23-Nov-1941 Abilene, TX Married 19-Sep-1883 in Sumner Co., TN Thomas A. PRICE b. 26-Apr-1862 Russellville, Logan Co., KY d. 01-Mar-1943 Abilene, TX They moved to Abilene, TX on 24-Dec-1894. Thomas' census file shows my grandmother, Bessie, as having been born in Tennessee, and her tombstone confirmed the vital dates. Her death certificate did not show the first name of either of her parents, only that her mother's maiden name was TRIBUE. But I could find only a couple of Tribues in Tennessee and wondered if it could be a misspelling or a variant of TRABUE. Her obituary gave no other information not already known, and shown here. Only a couple of Tribues could be found in the Tennessee census files, but a fellow rooter assures me that Tribue is indeed a valid name and several are to be found in Arkansas. So, turning my attention away from Tennessee, I'm now inquiring if any of my fellow Arkansas rooters have any Tribues in their files that could match up with Bessie Turner's mother's line.
