    3. The technician at Ancestry.com told me that they are working on the site throughout the month (one reason for the free promotion). He said if there were problems accessing the site during that time, wait a while and try again. If you still cannot connect, you should make sure that you have selected "Accept all cookies" in the Preferences or Options (Advanced) dialogue box of your browser. Then you should close and reopen your browser. There is no need to restart your computer. If you are an Ancestry.com subscriber, you do not need to log-in during the promotion month. Before I knew the site was open to all, my attempts to log-in brought up the user name/password error screen. After following the technician's suggestions, (cookies, close, open, no log-in) I was able to connect, search and browse without difficulty.
