History of Caroline County, VA. by Wingfield. p. 76 - Colonial land grants - George Turner - 63 acres August 27, 1770. p. 83 -William Turner's obituary appeared in Richmond "Whig". October 17, 1829. Nothing else about Turner's in index but author states index not complete. I'll page through quickly. H. P. Turner was in Caroline Light Artillery in Civil War. Reuben D. Turner, William Turner, Wm T. Turner (killed at Sharpsburg, Md '62), Geo. T. Turner (wounded at Sharpsburg, md '62) Joshua turner (died of disease '61), in Company E 13th Va Infantry. 1813 6th Reginment, Va Militia. Thomas Turner 1776-1783 Daniel Turner, Lt. Feb. 1778. Francis and Joseph Turner mentioned as soldiers in Rev. War from Caroline. John Turner married Fanny Davis 1790 Wilson Turner married Polly Hurt, May 3, 1797 William Martin married Letty Turner, Nov. 18, 1798 Obediah Martin married Ann Turner, (no date) Also for the person who wrote about Crutchfield/Turner...one other note just found not through index - For Crutchfield vs Baber, 2,920 acres in Bray survey, not dated. for same 596 acres on Herring Creek, Bray survey on June 27, 1738.
