Hello to all my cousins - Searching for any information on my paternal grandmother Bessie Lee TURNER, especially any information on her ancestors or possible siblings, and exactly where in Tennessee she was born. Bessie Lee TURNER b. 13-Oct-1864 Tennessee d. 23-Nov-1941 Abilene, TX Records show that she and my grandfather, Thomas A. Price, were married on 19-Sep-1883, and a very helpful fellow reseacher found her marriage records in Sumner Co., TN. They moved to Abilene, TX on 24-Dec-1894. Thomas's Census listing shows my grandmother, Bessie, to have been born in Tennessee, and her tombstone confirmed the vital dates. Her death certificate did not show the first name of either of her parents, only that her mother's maiden name was TRIBUE. But that name is so unusual I have wondered if it is possibly a misspelling or a variant of TRABUE, a French Huguenot family name. Her obituary gave no other information not already known, and shown here, except a sister, Mrs. Jim Young of Rockfield, KY, was listed as a survivor. The same fellow researcher who found her marriage records reported that her middle name was listed as Lee. Several other middle initials have been used in various records. The 1900 census records have her middle initial as E, and her cemetery records show it as J., but her tombstone showing it as T, but that is probably for Turner. At long last I now have all sorts of info on Thomas, but can't get over that well known brick wall on finding any useful information about Bessie, her parents or siblings.
