If I were a descendant I would try and get a mtDNA test. That would solve the mystery, maybe. I'm sure it's not that simple. Anyone know what a DNA test would cost? As a tri-racial person, like most Americans, it would be great to see just what our DNA says. Does anyone know if a private person can go and ask someone to test and see what the genes tell?
