My Turners come from Campbell and Claiborne Counties in East TN. John Turner, b. in the early 1800's, married Mary "Polly" Pierce. They had many children: Jesse Turner was my gggrandfather who died at the early age of 22, leaving a widow, Letitia Spangler Turner (later Sweat) and a daughter, Mary Helen Turner. John Turner's father was also named Jesse, but I don't know anything beyond that. J. Howard
